As a private country club in Springfield, Missouri, Highland Springs maintains high standards every year. Hosting a PGA Tour event through difficult weather conditions only added to the pressure this year. For Grounds Superintendent Jonathan Prange, CGCS, Foliar-Pak has been a partner in overcoming challenges during the 2022 golf season.
“Weather-wise, 2022 has been one of if not the most challenging summer to maintain bentgrass putting surfaces in the last decade,” Prange said. “On top of that, we were tasked to host a PGA Tour Korn Ferry event the last week of July in 100°F-plus temperatures.”
Prange’s Foliar-Pak program includes a combination of liquid fertilizers: Base Calcium, 18-3-4, Amperage, Armament K, Armament P, Calcium 7-0-0, CSi L, Foundation Forty, and Minors. Colonise Bio, Gold Standard 45, and Hydro-Pak Percolate round out the program at Highland Springs to help the crew produce consistently healthy putting greens.
“Throughout the growing season and the event, our putting surfaces held up extremely well. They maintained excellent color and density as well as a consistent growth rate throughout the season,” Prange said. “I have no doubt that the Foliar-Pak program, combined with sound cultural practices, allowed us to succeed in providing quality putting surfaces even while facing extremely tough growing conditions.”
Foliar-Pak is honored to provide superintendents like Prange with the products they need to meet high standards despite challenging circumstances.
