When you’re responsible for the health and appearance of meticulously maintained estate landscapes, underperforming plants simply aren’t an option. At Engledow Group’s Estates Division, the Turf and Ornamental Manager, Cody Lisk, faced a stubborn issue: he had ground cover that wasn’t responding as it should, and he needed a fast, effective solution.
What he didn’t anticipate was that the solution he chose would not only solve the immediate problem, but it would also become a reliable, long-term staple in his plant care program.

The solution that became a reliable, long-term staple in Lisk’s plant care program came about from a single site visit. Mark Sybouts, a trusted representative from Advanced Turf Solutions, walked the grounds, inspected the plants, and recommended Foliar-Pak products. The impact was immediate and lasting.
“The products worked fast and produced great results,” Lisk said. “I’ve been using Foliar-Pak products ever since.”
Today, Lisk incorporates Foliar-Pak Grow-In, Chloroburst L, and Gold Standard 45 into his routine maintenance and plant establishment strategies. He applies them across a wide range of plant materials—from flowers and shrubs to trees and, in the case of Grow-In, turfgrass. “Grow-In is my favorite Foliar-Pak product to use,” Lisk said. “That stuff treats everything in one jug. If I need to do a deep root injection on shrubs or trees, it works great for that. If I need to spray it on turfgrass, it does great at that.”
He continued, “I can also cut my rate back and spray it directly onto flowers, and it still works well. It’s a great product.”

Lisk has seen consistent improvements across the properties he takes care of since implementing Foliar-Pak products five years ago. Treated plants don’t just bounce back—they surge ahead.
“Plants we apply Foliar-Pak products on,” Lisk said, “grow and progress at least 50% faster than plants we do not treat. On new construction sites, the difference is very obvious.”
That success has shaped how Lisk approaches both recovery and establishment of his ornamentals.
One of the most impactful recovery examples involves a stretch of pachysandra near a busy road. Salt from winter road treatments damaged the beds—until Lisk treated them with Foliar-Pak.
“I’ve struggled with a couple beds of pachysandra located near a busy road,” Lisk said. “These beds get absolutely blasted with salt, so I started using Grow-In, Chloroburst L, and Gold Standard 45 on them. It’s actually saved me from having to replant those beds each spring.”
When it comes to establishing ornamentals, Lisk uses Foliar-Pak products proactively, which helps new plantings take root more quickly and develop stronger, healthier structures.
“I use Grow-in and Cholorburst L for all of my deep root fert applications,” Lisk said. “I can tell you from experience that they help to quickly improve the root structure of freshly planted ornamentals that we are trying to establish. Those ornamentals end up thriving.”
