One Product Line, Two Powerful Technologies

As a manufacturer’s representative traveling much of the country, I field a lot of interesting questions. Lately, one of the most frequent questions is (and usually with an explicative thrown in), “Curt, why did you change the names of your products?”

The short answer is all of our EnP customers are speaking the same language nationwide: Foliar-Pak. In the past, some folks used EnP Turf products while others used Foliar-Pak products. As a result, it was difficult to share programs, experiences, and ideas.

If you check out our new website, foliarpak.com, or our new catalog, you’ll witness the advantages of bringing all of our customers into the Foliar-Pak brand. We can share programs, experiences, and information more efficiently now. This integration has not only helped customers build better programs but has strengthened the Foliar-Pak name and has created more awareness of our product line. This is beneficial to everyone, end users, distributors, and Foliar-Pak reps alike. So, be assured that the Foliar-Pak brand is here to stay- and is even on the rise!

Within the Foliar-Pak product line, it’s important to understand that there are two primary product categories: AminoPrecise™ and Armament®. These technologies work in different ways to complement nutrition and improve plant performance. As you plan and implement your fertility program for the coming season, it’s important to know and understand the differences in these two strategies. Knowing this will help you get the most out of your liquid fertilizer dollar.

AminoPrecise™ – Foliar Amino Acid Technology

AminoPrecise technology focuses on utilizing specific small molecular weight (foliar absorbable) amino acids. AminoPrecise refers to our formulation techniques that link a specific amino acid to a certain nutrient to enhance foliar uptake. For example, the amino acid that improves absorption (increases the solubility) of calcium is different from the amino acid that increases the availability of boron. So, the amino acid that the plant gets from our Foliar-Pak Calcium is different than the amino acid in our new Foliar-Pak Boron. Precise amino acids for specific purposes.

The chosen amino acid may also work to perform certain physiological plant functions that complement the abilities of the nutrient. For instance, an amino acid that protects chlorophyll is ideal for paring with iron and manganese since these nutrients are important for photosynthesis. This is just one example of the synergistic physiological plant responses from AminoPrecise formulations.

AminoPrecise™ Benefits

In a nutshell, the AminoPrecise products deliver great plant benefits at lower use rates. Improved nutrient uptake and translocation is one direct benefit of AminoPrecise products. Armament® – Soil Technology

Armament is an entirely different beast. It is powerful technology designed to work in the soil. The fact that it is a large molecular weight molecule dictates its inability to be taken up by foliage, which is fine because Armament is designed to impact soil solution chemistry. Simply put, it increases the availability of the soil bank of nutrients. Many hostile forces are acting in the soil that tie up nutrients like high pH, high phosphorus, and high clay content to name a few. Armament inhibits the interaction of nutrients with these hostile forces allowing better availability of most soil nutrients.

Armament works overtime to hold and release nutrients that would otherwise be locked up and unavailable. Increasing the availability of a wide range of nutrients ensures that the plant nutritional needs are met more successfully.
